Throughout years of learning, I have concluded a single architectural form that gathers many of my interests being digital fabrication, pattern-based design, animation, and experimental electronics. Thus, the embryonic beginnings of a large, accessible geodesic dome (an interactive installation), is now hand built to present as a sculptural object as well as a projection chamber. Everything from the weight of the frame, the repetition of the struts, and the tension of each connection point is shaped through careful, planned construction. The interior is meant to confirm this dome as an interactive vessel, functioning as a domain to host my visual sequences of biological motions and dreamlike distortions. Using applications such as Touchdesigner, the graphics are mapped across the dodecahedral plane, testing how timed motion behaves inside seemingly refused flatness. Naranja is a life-sized rebirth of said fruit, bringing freshness into the three-dimensional world.
